I would've loved to have served, but this was just a baaad time.

I'm on jury duty today--at this moment I'm sitting in 60 Centre Street, the building with all the steps in fron (seen in the movie Wall Street and, I think, Law and Order). We had the Thyme reading Monday evening (which went very well) and Luke (Demetrius) had asked us over to his place afterward but he lived further downtown and I didn't want to get home late so I decided against it. We had our first readthrough for Twelfth Night last night, down at HB Studios in the Village. I'm very excited we'll be rehearsing (some) down there--I don't get into the Village that often and it's one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city! They're running an ad on NY1 right now--it features Shrek and the donkey from Shrek (I don't know his name, I've never seen the movie). The two creatures are exhorting kids to "be a player!" and to get up and go outside to play. I mean--they are actually running ads that tell kids to go outside and play.
